A Level 1 is a visual check of everything readily accessible — right for a routine annual inspection on a system that has not changed. A Level 2 adds a camera through the full flue and is the standard whenever something has changed: a sale, a new appliance, a chimney fire or storm damage.

If you genuinely never light it and never intend to, the fire risk is low — but the water and structural risk is not, and an unused flue is exactly where animals nest. A crown does not care whether you burn. It is worth a look every few years at minimum.
